Brum’s streets were dead yesterday – literally!
One hundred “zombie workers” of the sixteen major high street stores that went bust since the start of the recession crept their way through the city centre with a message – it’s dead wrong.
Artist Ellie Harrison organised the walk to shine a light on what she called the “creative destructive” forces of capitalism on the shopping streets.
Long gone shops included Woolworths, MFI, Borders, JJB Sports, Blockbuster, Phones 4U.
The zombies re-visited the former sites of the defunct businesses, highlighting the plight of these once proud brands.
