The List (p.92)

Taking a stroll up Sauchiehall Street past the CCA over the past six months passers-by may have noticed a spinning street sign bearing a strange message, ‘climate’ on one side and ‘change’ on the other. The sign is one of a series from Scottish artist Ellie Harrison, placed outside arts venues on busy shopping streets, that aim to be a simple and playful way of catching people’s attention, distracting them from their shopping with a stark reminder of the consequences of excessive consumption. As well as the CCA the other 2012 host venues are Site Gallery in Sheffield, Dundee Contemporary Arts and Glasgow’s Trongate 103.

CCA, Glasgow, until Mon 24 Dec.
