Ellie Harrison displays her work Fair Game at the Briggait ahead of city’s newest art fair Vault, Glasgow’s opening to the public on September 8, 2011 in Glasgow, Scotland. Vault will take place in the Briggait from the 9- 11 September, a Grade A-listed former fishmarket already housing over 80 artist studios and arts organisations, and unlike traditional art fairs, all the work for sale has been selected by curator Patricia Fleming. There?s currently no forum like this for Glasgow-based artists to sell their work within their own city, despite that city?s burgeoning reputation for visual art, and to that end, Vault is being run as a not-for-profit organisation. Essentially, by presenting established and emergent artists together, Vault hopes to act as a snapshot of one of the most fertile, exciting contemporary art scenes in Europe.
